1 Sex Differences in Accompaniment and Technology Usage in a Coffee Shop Margaret Diamond, Chloe Kingery, Jessica McAbee, and Jessica Thompson, Department of Psychology Gender differences in accompaniment and technology use were observe in a coffee shop close to a college campus. Young adults (N=232) were observed to see if there was a difference in having accompaniment or sitting along. They were also observed to see if men would be more likely engaged in electronic use. Overall, women were more likely to have accompaniment in a coffee shop, whereas men were more likely to be sitting alone. There was no significant finding in males being more likely to be engaged in electronic use. This finding suggests that males could have more confidence with being a public space alone.

End-to-end quality-of-service (QoS) support in middleware is critical to achieve publish/subscribe (pub/sub)-based distributed real-time and embedded (DRE) systems. This poster describes ongoing work on supporting QoS properties over wide area networks within the OMG’s Data Distribution Service (DDS) by leveraging the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Session Description Protocol (SDP).

In order to deploy multiparty applications using SSM, we not only need routers running SSM and hosts running MLDv2, but we must also consider some issues: We show that an architecture such as sas allows to keep a global session announcement a la SAP using SSM in the inter-domain. We evaluate ssmsdp and show that it is a viable architecture for discovering dynamic sources in a multiparty session...
